Artist Statement:

My art is a visualization of my experiences and feelings.  Much of it can be seen as a visual journal.  It is largely created with the use of ink, collage and found materials.  The use of mixed media is directly connected to the emotion that I attempt to convey.  Nearly all of my work is pieced together using found surfaces.  By nature this act shows the thought process and developing interactions involved.  Taking something discarded and transforming it into a deliberately visual piece of art  evokes thoughts on renewal and the idea of,  “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”  My work as a whole is driven by projecting inward feelings outward.  That being said, surface is equally as important.  The body of work created expresses emotion and narrative, of both technical process and content of each piece.
